This easy apple cider vinegar mocktail is one of our favorite non-alcoholic drinks for grown-ups! Made within 5 minutes using freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh mint, lemon juice, bubbly water and a touch of apple cider vinegar that adds a nice kick. And there is a bonus: it is loaded with vitamin C and health benefits from the fermented apple cider vinegar. Such a delicious and healthy drink you can feel good about!

We are obsessed with this super easy apple cider vinegar mocktail!

We enjoy non-alcoholic healthy mocktails that carry a strong flavor, such as this chili lime mojito mango mocktail or this matcha green tea raspberry mocktail. They are so satisfying and mimic well the flavor of real cocktails made with booze.

If you like robust and bold-in-flavor healthy drinks too, then this apple cider spritzer is for you!

Adding apple cider vinegar to a mocktail might sound unusual at first sight, but you have got to try it, the vinegar adds just enough tangy and sharp flavor that balances the sweet orange juice and refreshing mint so beautifully. It does bring an extra layer of tart flavor, more complexity and simply more character to your drink, too. The perfect grown-up drink without alcohol.

Beyond its unique fermented flavor that will get you hooked after the first sip, apple cider vinegar is known to be a healthy addition to your diet. We love using it to make salad dressings, such as seen in this kale crunch salad, but it also works well in drinks.

Just to name a few health benefits, apple cider vinegar helps control blood sugar, suppresses bacterial growth, adds a valuable probiotic effect for gut health and much more. It also helps boost your metabolism, which is why it has been included in weight loss programs for a while now.

This recipe makes for a stunning and festive fizzy drink that can be done within 5 minutes, that's packed with great flavor, made with lots of fresh, light and zesty citrus aromas and that you can feel good about. It has a nice tangy jazz to it, thanks to the apple cider vinegar, and it's alcohol-free, of course!

Hope you give it a try! ❤️

Why you will love this recipe

    • Easy to whip up within 5 minutes
    • Full of flavors and lightly sweetened
    • Perfect everyday mocktail for busy people
    • Makes for a refreshing drink that's very satisfying
    • Delicious drink recipe that can help you drink less alcohol
    • Uses simple ingredients and is very versatile
    • Hydrating, packed with vitamin C and includes a popular superfood: apple cider vinegar!

    Ingredients you will need

(See below in the recipe card for the measurements)

    • Apple cider vinegar: to get the most out of this healthy ingredient, then look for keywords on the bottle such as raw, unfiltered, unpasteurized or "with the mother". All these terms are linked to the classic way of making apple cider vinegar: using fermentation. This is what will give you all the health benefits of apple cider vinegar! I used the organic apple cider vinegar from the brand Bragg. That being said, if the one you already have at home is different, then it's fine, use it still to give your drink an amazing flavor!
    • Orange: I used freshly pressed orange juice and I encourage you to do the same for the best fresh flavor. Bottled orange juice works too if in a pinch!
    • Fresh lemon juice: lime juice works too! Start with 1 tablespoon and add more to taste if needed. In that case, I don't recommend using bottled lemon juice, you will need fresh lemons!
    • Fresh mint: you can skip it if you don't have any, but I find fresh mint to add a delicious fresh flavor that complements the other ingredients.
    • Maple syrup: only add what you need for a touch of sweetness, which can be from not at all to about 2-3 teaspoons. Other sweeteners will work too, such as simple syrup or agave syrup.
    • Sparkling water: use any kind that you have or prefer. Tonic water or club soda are great, you can even make it with ginger beer for a fun twist!
Showing are the ingredients needed to make this recipe.

How to make an apple cider vinegar mocktail

(See below in the recipe card for the full recipe)

    Make the concentrate

Juice the ½ orange, then pour it into your serving glass. You can make the juice go through a small colander to remove the pulp for a clear drink, but this is optional.

Then, juice the lemon and add 1 tablespoon to the glass. Add the sweetener and apple cider vinegar, and stir.

Use your hands to clap and gently bruise the fresh mint leaves, and add them to your glass as well.

    Finish up and serve

Add a generous amount of ice cubes, and then, fill up your glass with sparkling water. Stir, taste and adjust the ingredients to your liking. Enjoy right away.

In process picture: juice the orange and strain.

    Helpful tips

    • Adjust sweetness to your taste, which will depend on how sweet your orange is.
    • This drink is best when enjoyed right away to get most of the bubbly effect. That being said, you can make a big batch of the apple cider vinegar concentrate (everything except for the bubbly water and ice cubes) and keep it in the fridge for 3-4 days.
    • If your orange is small, then add the juice of the whole orange!

    Variations

This apple cider vinegar mocktail is easy to adapt and the perfect drink to customize. Here are a few ideas:

    • Slushy: instead of using ice cubes, try to fill up your glass with lots of crushed ice to make for a fun and tasty slushy. You can also blend some regular ice cubes with the apple cider vinegar orange concentrate ingredients, transfer to a tall glass and pour the sparkling water over.
    • Spicy: add a pinch of ground cayenne pepper or turmeric powder to add some heat.
    • Gingery: I love ginger flavor in drinks, which would also work well here. Simply grate some fresh ginger into the vinegar-orange concentrate.
    • Kombucha: swap the sparkling water for kombucha for even more character and extra probiotic health benefits. As a side note, most kombucha contains a low amount of alcohol, just something to consider if you aim for a zero-alcohol drink or if planning on serving it to kids.
    • Juices: for a personalized drink, you can also include cranberry juice, apple juice or pineapple juice.

    FAQs

Does this drink taste like vinegar?

Oddly enough, you will barely taste the apple cider vinegar in this recipe. This mocktail is delicious and has an addictive unique flavor! The vinegar adds a mild tangy flavor without being overpowering, such a delicious way to enjoy the health benefits of apple cider vinegar. You can start with only 1 teaspoon of vinegar if you prefer and add the second teaspoon after a taste test.

    Can I make a pitcher?

Yes, you can adjust the recipe and make a pitcher, although I would pour the sparkling water and add the ice cubes only when serving to have a nice sparkling effect.

This ACV with orange juice is more powerful and tasty than normal ACV. This is a learning topic. learned a lot from this article. I take apple cider vinegar with the mother and mix it with honey. I have three stents. Should I take ACV regularly or at intervals? I also like organic products.
