Add a nice spin next time you make a matcha latte with these delicious warming fall spice flavors! It is easy, healthy and SO delicious. And also happens to be vegan and dairy-free. I'm sure this matcha chai latte will be your new favorite autumn treat!
Add the matcha powder to your serving mug (you can sift it in the mug to help break up the clumps) and then add the chai spice mix. Pour the ¼ cup of boiling water over and whisk until frothy and all the spices are well dissolved (I like to use a bamboo whisk).
Warm up the milk using the microwave or on the stove and then add the sweetener. Don't let it boil if warming up on the stove! Once hot, froth using an electric frother or you can also shake the milk in a sealed jar for about a minute until frothy.
Pour the frothy milk over the matcha mixture and adjust sweetener and spice level to your taste. Sprinkle with more spices and serve right away while still warm.
Make an iced matcha chai latte
Combine the matcha powder and chai spices with the hot water in a small bowl or a mug and whisk until well dissolved.
Fill a tall glass with ice cubes and pour the milk over. Then, pour the matcha-spice mixture over and add sweetener to taste. Stir and enjoy!

Notes
You can make this recipe using chai tea bags instead of ground spices. To make it, simply steep 1 or 2 tea bags in the hot water for about 5 minutes (use a little more than ¼ cup to help the steeping process). Then, add the matcha powder and whisk to dissolve. And keep going with the recipe as described!
You can make more and keep it in the fridge for 1-2 days. Simply pour the flavored matcha chai milk over ice cubes for an iced latte or reheat in the microwave or on the stove for a warm latte.
Other flavoring ingredients you can use are vanilla extract, pumpkin spice mix, clove, allspice and turmeric.
