Instructions
In a small sauce pan, combine the milk and raw oats. Heat over medium-high heat until boiling. Then, turn down the heat to medium-low and keep cooking while stirring for about 5 minutes until creamy (keep uncovered). Remove from the heat.
Add the matcha powder, maple syrup and vanilla extract. Stir to combine. Then, while the oatmeal is still warm, add the chocolate chips and stir until slightly melted, but not completely dissolved in the oatmeal (it will create a swirl of chocolate, yum!).
Top with the garnishes of your choice and enjoy while still warm.

Notes
Garnish your bowl with the ingredients of your choice. It goes well with fresh fruits, nuts, seeds and shredded coconut. I love using frozen fruits (available all year) that I simply thaw in the microwave for a few seconds before topping my bowl. This oatmeal recipe is especially delicious with frozen and thawed raspberries, cherries and strawberries.
Store the leftover in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat wither in the microwave or on the stove and add an extra splash of vegan milk as the oatmeal thickens while resting.
